Limitless...

May be its right, or maybe just the height,
Maybe its the flow, or maybe needs a blow.
Maybe its so deep, that noone is able  to peep,
Maybe its a gorge, or maybe its the leap.

Maybe its a desire, or maybe what you admire
Maybe its a dream, or maybe just catching a gleam,
Maybe its for fun, or maybe it needs to burn,
Maybe its so easy, or maybe its all so crazy

Maybe thats a win, that leads others to grin,
Maybe it has fire, or maybe its not entire,
Maybe its on water or maybe its not on charter
Maybe its too cold, or maybe its not so bold

Maybe you're in doubt, maybe you are so sure,
Maybe you dont have it, maybe you need to explore,
But, if it is what you want, dont let it regress,
Limits cease to exist, by just thinking limitless..

The Postal Stamp

The Postal Stamp

With Aspiration and Design, printed was I,

The land and Beyond Inhabited my eyes,

Didn’t know what lied and what I would carry,

A message for the parted, gift for loved or a reason to be merry.

But I wished I was taken, the longest it could be,

The land unseen, people unknown, per avian or by sea,

To be valued for what I am, be able to show the world.

What I am made of, what it means to be me.

So I got pasted to the biggest of the packs,

The address seemed unknown, sender unbothered to track.

I held by breath, for best prayed to my creator,

With dreams turning to reality, didn’t want to fall back.

And off we went, on the highway and on the flight,

The fear of unknown further gripped me tight,

We went on the journey turning long and longer,

I lost the track of the day and of the night.

The moment finally struck, and we knocked on the door,

Two rushing hands, numerous keen eyes, waited up a floor.

The party was on and the gift had arrived.

In time we reached so fruitful was the ride.

I felt proud and happiness soaked in,

A dream came true but doubt poked in.

What happens now, is it thus the end ?

Of sour, sweet and bitter, I was sipping the blend.

Then the gift was opened, lit everyone’s eyes,

The wrapper got trashed and so was I,

It was the end, I started to accept,

Every high has a low, I was living the concept.

We were getting carried, to be thrown in the bin,

Living my dreams was turning out to be a sin.

But destiny has a way of giving you the best,

All of a sudden we were brought to rest.

Then a soft hand felt me, and with care took me off,

I was placed on velvet, for never to doff.

I was getting collected, for the reason I was so rare,

The long distance I travelled paid off my fare.

So here I am, a postal stamp that stuck,

Reached where I willed to, with my share of luck.

Held to my dream and never let ‘em go,

As dream were still clear, when the ‘real’ was in muck.

Be a postal Stamp, stick till you reach there,

But it’s hard to know, where is your ‘there’.

Have faith in your dreams, they never let you fail,

Destiny is, not the address, to what you are mailed.

The Knot

I am the knot, waiting to be untied.
Straighten all strands, in me that bind.

To open the stitch, through weave to flow,
Every frisk after other, to make myself glow,
Dont want to stop, stick to an end,
I am the fibre, fabric that can mend

Loom cant control, for i dont get pressed,
Others envy, in unique colour I am dressed,
Soft on surface, have a head of steel,
My design i will create, not any felt i'll ingress.

The moment will fall, the time would abide,
My needle would rise, take me to a ride,
I am a knot, waiting to be untied,
Straighten all strands, in me that bind.

Missing..

Like a lonely passenger in the tourist bus, I sit in me,

have the colours pass through my eyes, them faded I see.

People in them offer all the words, but i just pass them the plea,

of charm on my face, of sweet in my voice, in my smile of glee.

The need and the paucity, sleep on the same  couch,

Space is so wasted, or I am not in my pouch,

the wall is air, so its all over, I seek the way out.

To reach my land, brethe my air, i take on the bout.

The incomplete stands and walks, the stutterer speaks

Without you, the world is bigger, worse than it seems.

Want to rush to you, you hold somthing from my inside,

that makes me me, its you I want, rest all rests aside.

Miss my Gobul and Nonu

The Incident

07th Feb 2011 , winters are bidding adieu and everyone wanted one more spell of chill so that the inevitable summers are delayed. And all prayers got answered in form of lightening gleaming off the dark evening. Dust gushed in the air and it blew hard to make herself felt.

IT had already started to drizzle as I was making way back to my car soon after passing the documents, I had to send to towers, and sipping a cup of tea with Ela, Rajeev and Kapil. I was gazing through the spaces between the vehicles on Shyam Chowk, hoping to find an opportunity to make my way on NH8, while I was getting seated in my car. Soon I was off the footpath and on the highway unaware of what was waiting.

A few yards ahead and it started raining cats and Dogs amidst sequence of red tail lights around like a pattern in kaleidoscope, with me sitting at the centre of it. Slowly it crept towards Shankar chowk and the rain was at its peak. Only water and red lights filtering through it. Volume of Fm was soon dwarfed by the rhythm of down pour on the metal car roof.

I trusted My car for its behavior in such scenarios, even if the tyres took fractions longer to stop on application of brakes, I was sure that it won't render me helpless on jam packed highway. So I crossed the red light with water roaring in my ears and red lit droplets blinding me over the wind shield. At snails pace, cris crossing, the moving lanes, I had now reached the toll bridge. Paid the toll and pressed accelerator hard to make my pass swift, only to stop at the end of a long swarming traffic Jam. The speed was negligible and every attempt to move across to moving lane by road runners added to annoyance. the rain had started to die down and the wipers were allowed to catch breath. Soon the music from Fm was loud enough to make sense, but the tail lights were stuck where they were. The clutch was and brakes pressed down with every 5ft I moved.

My eyes were on the tail lights of a red maruti swift and it was a while I had been following it. This was the second lane from the right divider and we were halted when I got shock of the lifetime.

With my left hand holding the gear, left foot on clutch fully pressed, and right foot on the brake, my eyes were waiting for the red swift to move ahead and follow it as I have doing for past 15 mins. It was about 500 mtrs that had passed since the toll bridge. I had everything in control when all of a sudden my car started moving backwards. It was on first gear and the brake was pressed hard. It took me 2 seconds to realise that the brake had failed. Shocked, I checked if engine was on to rule out hydraulic failure due to engine off, it was on and the car was still inching back, took my feet off the brakes and pressed the other pedal thinking I had pressed the accelerator, but I was wrong, the car was still moving backwards picking speed, it was high time I pulled the hand brakes as the last resort, but it was as useless as others. It became cold and eyes got blinded, no sound sounded and I felt my breath rushing off my lungs. I was going to hit my back, and I had no control over it. My confident self took a backseat and I surrendered, and in that helplessness I lifted my foot off the clutch, I felt a jerk waking me up to life, the car was stopped and a loud honk was outrageous indicating what could have been the outcome.

I breathed as if I had never taken a breath and looked at the dash board, The car was stopped, the hand brake indicator was red. The red swift was farther than it originally was.

In no time I spun the key and the car was started. The accelerator made roar when pressed and I moved the car on first gear. Then applied the brake, the car stopped, moved further and applied again, it stopped again, the brake was working fine.

What about hand brake, it stopped the car too...

I had no answer and I was cold. Unable to digest what had just happened. I was not thinking straight. I carried on for next 20 mins with my state and all of a sudden the lightening stuck. I was ascending over the Rajokari fly over and applied brakes.

' The road my brakes failed on was a flat section of the highway, there was no slope , why did my car start moving backwards.?????'

What was that??? why the brakes failed all of a sudden??? why didn't the hand brake work??? How come it all became fine all of a sudden.

And above all what pushed my car back before it stopped finally, I was all questions and still looking for answers......

Anger to Action

The time appropriately witnesses the actions and reactions of the doers and the despair of the bearers but hardly these views are comprehended by the ones who govern and control.
The motives are not understood and often misjudged for the sake of demanded actions. Be it Political or Diplomatic the idea that controls right or wrong does not necessarily come from the right person at right time. The anger is born!!

Who doesn’t know this and for those who know, the stories do not go beyond the dinner tables with TVs on or the gossips during free hours, the feeling that I am not angry with anyone or I can deal with all the ones I am angry with takes us to nice sleeps in our beds- alas thy anger dies!!

The heinous attack on our fellow human beings shocked the peace loving hoi polloi of our country. Innocents were killed and bruised, Shocked because anything obvious but unexpected is not accepted, but this time it was packed and mailed to our homes. Kudos!! To media who did the postman job.
There were evident warnings of something bigger to come and as completely laidback and burdened with work babus, we never cared and so was the impact, we were hit hard and fast. So who’s to blame?? It’s fairly easy to blame the intelligence and far easier to guess the doers as none of these costs you anything other than few gushes of air from lungs passing through larynx and mouth to create sound. Huh!! That’s what our leaders have done for securing their lively hood. Still unsure of right or wrong, we the people still gaze the sky for the answers. The despair of being in democracy and not able to do anything grows the anger that has dwelled in our heart for several Mundane reasons

And this doesn’t end here; the anger finds a vent or fills the hearts of people of a growing democracy with frustration and contempt, the contempt of the ones who are in stature of and are not acting to aid the cause. The feeling of discontentment leads to endeavour and sensible endeavours lead to revolutions.
Sounds good, but this does not seem to have happened to us, we are jovial again and may soon count it just as a dismal mishap of the year gone by in the competition refreshers.
And eventually may forget to use the greatest weapon which can lead to all that our anger intended.
To curb the odds and establish the rights, democracy provides us with the weapon of vote, and when used it has always fetched good results. So the need of the hour is to master this weapon and make ourselves secure for the days to come. And this in turn requires the same effort that shows up in demonstrations on the streets for securing seats in the colleges or reservations in jobs. Seemingly the anger is far bigger this time the power it carries is overwhelming but all it needs is the right way to bring it out. Standing in the queus ,waiting to vote is far better that waiting un protected and unsecure at homes, restaurants, parks or hotels to get shot or bombarded.
